My group's teaching topic was on control. I learned that it's alright to control people and things as long as we are not being controlling. I also learned that when organizing you need the right ingredients to get the job done properly.
I agree with you, there is a big difference between control and controlling. People don't like a person to demand they do something or leave if you don't see it their way. A person who can control with a smile is a great leader and sets an example for others to follow. They will gain others respect and admiration, which will make them work harder to make their leader look good and feel good about themselves in the process.
